Job description

Our client is seeking a freelance Account Manager who will oversee the day-to-day needs of assigned clients and partner closely with internal teams to deliver smart, measurable marketing solutions. This role is responsible for managing client relationships, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on strategy.
Role Qualifications

  • Ability to execute both strategic and tactical planning to meet and anticipate client needs.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, scopes, and timelines to achieve sales and profitability goals.
  • Demonstrated contribution to new business opportunities, including idea generation, research, and proposal development.
  • Track record of developing trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, stakeholders, and senior client executives.
  • Strong project and process management skills to keep internal and client teams aligned, informed, and on schedule.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and oversee creative development and execution across assigned accounts.
  • Build, manage, and reconcile program budgets and timelines, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and profitably.
  • Forecast, monitor, and report on key client account metrics and performance indicators.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities to grow each client’s business through proactive relationship management and value-added recommendations.
  • Partner closely and consistently with creative, digital, and production teams to deliver high-quality, on-brief marketing and communication solutions.
  • Stay informed about marketing trends, tools, and innovations to help guide client strategy and agency recommendations.
  • Support new business efforts as needed, including participating in brainstorming sessions, helping develop decks, and contributing to pitches.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3–5 years of advertising agency or closely related marketing experience.
  • Solid understanding of marketing and advertising fundamentals, including audience, positioning, messaging, and measurement.
  • Hands-on experience with both digital and traditional marketing channels (e.g., digital media, social, blogs, print, direct mail, TV, radio, point of sale).
  • Demonstrated interest in performance marketing and a focus on driving tangible business outcomes for clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver client presentations and pitches.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfort operating in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving client needs.
  • Ability to work independently as a freelancer while also functioning as an integrated, high-performing member of cross-functional teams.
  • Curious, self-motivated, and committed to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing thought leadership that supports each client’s marketing and communications goals.
  • Experience in relationship management, project management, and/or process management.
