One of our jewelry and accessories retail/eCommerce clients is looking for a freelance Sr. Growth Marketing Consultant with strong D2C and eCommerce experience to join their team for an ongoing part-time consulting engagement operating as somewhat of a fractional CMO.
This freelance Sr. Growth Marketing Consultant must have deep experience in direct-to-consumer and online retail and be focused on strategy, hands-on execution, and rapid experimentation to accelerate customer acquisition, revenue, and profitability across digital channels
The freelance Sr. Growth Marketing Consultant will act as a fractional CMO–type leader, partner closely with the Founder/CEO and head of eCommerce to guide and up-level an internal team of 3–4 digital/growth marketing specialists.
Ideal freelance Sr. Growth Marketing Consultant candidates will have:
– Proven track record driving measurable growth for D2C/eCommerce brands as a senior growth marketer, consultant, or agency lead.
– Hands-on experience managing and optimizing performance campaigns across digital channels relevant to online retail and D2C businesses.
– Strong understanding of growth funnels, CAC/LTV dynamics, attribution, and core eCommerce KPIs.
– Extremely well-versed in D2C, eCommerce, and paid/organic social, with the ability to quickly ramp on existing channels and tactics.
– Ability to understand and speak to the mindset of customers who buy spiritual jewelry and related accessories.
– Comfortable working in a freelance/consulting capacity with a bias toward speed, experimentation, and clear deliverables.
– Data-driven decision-maker who can translate complex performance insights into simple, actionable recommendations.
– Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, confident working directly with executive leadership.
Job Responsibilities:
– Develop and own a comprehensive growth strategy for the D2C/eCommerce business aligned with revenue, profitability, and ROI targets.
– Audit current marketing funnels, campaigns, and channels to identify quick wins and longer-term growth levers.
– Plan, launch, and optimize performance marketing campaigns (paid social, paid search, shopping, remarketing, etc.) across platforms commonly used by D2C/eCommerce brands.
– Design and run structured A/B and multivariate tests (creative, offers, landing pages, audiences, funnels) to improve conversion rates and lower CAC.
– Partner with internal stakeholders to refine positioning, messaging, and offers that drive higher engagement and lifetime value.
– Review the website and checkout experience and recommend CRO initiatives to improve add-to-cart, checkout, and purchase conversion.
– Set up and monitor analytics, dashboards, and reporting to track full-funnel performance from traffic and engagement through revenue and retention.
– Implement, document, and communicate a clear testing roadmap and growth playbook that the internal team can execute beyond the consulting engagement.
– Provide senior-level guidance on budget allocation, channel mix, and scaling strategies based on performance data.
– Collaborate closely with leadership and the broader marketing/eCommerce team to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and success metrics.
– Assess current paid media and growth marketing spend, including what is and is not working, and quickly implement a cohesive, prioritized action plan.
