Week Of High Fashion Ends With Career Fair

Fashion Week is ending with a career expo featuring job recruiters from more than 20 companies.

Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie and Fitch and Ralph Lauren are among the labels in attendance at the Women's Wear Daily-sponsored event.

Hundreds have lined up at the Metropolitan Pavillion on West 18th Street.

Recruiters say prospective employees may have to work harder than usual to find a job in the current economy.

"Our advice is really do your homework. You know, get out there, do the research, find out the companies that are hiring," said recruiter Kristy Watson. "A job fair is a great way to meet 10, 15, 20 recruiters in one setting, but it's really the game-changers, the people who actually follow up after the interview that are really going to get the jobs."

Jobs are available in areas including retail, senior design, merchandising and web design.
