Position Summary:

Responsible for the end-to-end design, development, and sourcing of complex apparel merchandise. Create go to market strategy including product financial goals, marketing opportunities, packaging, and assortment. Role model and demonstrate the Company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

 

Essential Job Functions:

o Work with design on first prototype and initial development of tech pack creation-sketch, construction, and bill of materials (BOM)

o Work with tech design for construction details and specs on initial tech pack

o Work with design on fabric selection and approvals for proto making

o Consult with sourcing on vendor base and development of samples

o Responsible for initial costing and communicate findings to sourcing and design teams

o Develop a private label assortment that meets the needs of the target Customer and has an eye for product and fashion sensibility o Involved in vendor allocation discussion

o Work with design on bulk approvals

o Track all samples and submits for time and action adherence

o Work with design to created merchandising boards for line review presentations

o Communicate line adoption items to production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Fit teams

o Attend and contribute updates in weekly production meetings, attend proto, fit, and top fittings

o Capitalize on sales successes and target gross margin

o Drive high quality standards

o Work closely with Trend and Product Development Coordinator to manage and execute the development of an apparel line in accordance with the seasonal calendar

o Create Tech packs and technical drawings

o Construct spec guide for fit approvals

o Collaborate on lab dip approvals with Design

o Create commitment sheets with correct duty and load for vendors and Buyers

o Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

 

Minimum Position Qualifications:

o BA/BS in Fashion Design/Merchandising or related field

o 2+ years of product development experience preferred

o Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

o Willingness to continue education, as necessary

 

Desired Previous Job Experience:

o Master’s Degree in Fashion Design/Merchandising or related discipline

o 2 years in one of the following development industry categories: Apparel Design, Textile Design, Production Development, Sourcing, Creative Direction, Garment Technology and Pattern Design
