Our client is a wellknown multi-brand high contemporary retailer that is seeking a new
Associate Buyer to support the companies merchandising strategy, open-to-buy process, business analysis, purchasing, allocation, the flow of goods, team relationships, and communication.
The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to self-motivate & drive initiative while having a deep understanding of our brand and customer.
What You’ll Do:
-Develop a merchandising strategy, including product selection, to maximize sales, margin, and profitability targets for pillar and emerging brands
- Curate edited assortment reflective in orders and review/finalize with Buyer/DMM
- Collaborate with Buyer and present to DMM on order reviews and overall dept strategies
- Fiscal responsibility for financial targets, active participation in OTB and ensuring Sales, Turn, Margin and Inventory levels are achieving Plan
- Vendor negotiations with manager guidance (vendor terms, exclusivity arrangements and distribution)
- Communicate business analysis with supporting information to Buyer/DMM, working across departments to create consistency
- Develops and executes business strategies and enlists cross functional support and partnership
- Manage seasonal and annual financial plans for business category
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or fashion related discipline
-Experience working in a multi-brand retailer
– Minimum 3 years buying or editorial experience with existing relationships within the market
- Proven track record of success and ability to drive a business with proven ability to create product assortments to meet customer needs
- Strong business and financial analysis skills, and strong retail math acumen
- Keen fashion sense and trend forecasting ability
- Demonstrated managerial and leadership abilities
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required
