Job description

Our client, a well-known denim brand is looking for an Associate Designer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Design Director to put together inspiration boards for seasonal color, styling, silhouettes, trims and all details
  • Generate working line sheets.
  • Generate and maintain up to date styles, BOMs etc.
  • Maintain and update seasonal development boards.
  • Assist in line review and product presentations.
  • Attend all fittings to ensure product meets design expectations.
  • Responsible for development tech packs being accurate. Collaborating with Tech Design and Product development teams to ensure information is correct.
  • Keep product development on track and in line with development schedule. • Inspect and assure prototypes meet design expectations.
  • Research trends and suggest designs in line with trends and brand direction.
  • Some travel may be required in order to research trends, attend trade shows, and purchase materials.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years work experience in design related field.
  • Preferred knowledge of sportswear design, fabrics, silhouettes.
  • Proficient and fast using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop required).
  • Candidate must have an impeccable sense of style.
  • Must understand our streetwear and lifestyle customer and be able to design relevant product with a brand signature 
  • Be able to take direction and own a task from start to finish.
  • Amazing time management skills and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Be able to multi-task and prioritize as needed.
  • Be able to sketch CADs and manipulate basic artwork
  • Have a good understanding of garment construction and be able to do detail sheets

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience using Full Circle or similar PLM software.
  • Lifestyle brand design background preferred
