Our client, a top ad agency is seeking an Associate Director (AD) of Commerce, eager to challenge the retail norms, create industry leading campaign strategy and combine best in class media activation skills with industry-leading retail consulting. You are an expert in retail marketing. You puzzle over new data sets, new signals and metrics. You enjoy brainstorming new ideas and reviewing data with serious rigor. Your responsibilities include building and growing strong client relationships, media activation management, providing strategic direction to the account teams, ensuring the health of Commerce accounts, scoping projects and developing staff. The ideal candidate must have strong team management, and expert-level e-commerce and retail media experience with such platforms as Walmart Media Group, Roundel, Quotient and Kroger Precision Marketing.

Job Responsibilities
Continual evaluation of commerce marketing strategies to identify opportunity for competitive advantage for Publicis Media
Master, identify and communicate trends in retail and client industries to internal teams and clients
Be the trusted advisor to Commerce team, with demonstrated ability to lead the team relationship, across all levels
Develop strong relationships with key retail media networks to ensure strategies and tactics are aligned to achieve objectives
Support annual, commerce tactical media planning for assigned Business Unit/brands in partnership with integrated brand strategy and Upper Funnel media teams, as well as with retail media networks and third party vendors
Lead RFP process, communicating clear objectives to partners; evaluate proposed tactics and work with strategy team and third party partners to refine
Drive integration and partnership between commerce/retailer media and brand media/upper funnel tactics to develop truly end-to-end media plans.
Lead media activation process for commerce campaigns; oversee team through trafficking, campaign set up, optimizations, and reporting
Oversight/management of self-serve, programmatic campaigns and continuous media optimization to achieve/surpass KPIs
Evaluate alpha/beta opportunities to take advantage of first-to-market offerings; present compelling test and learn opportunities to internal and client teams
Manage the overall day to day activity of managers and liaises with strategists to ensure key strategies and vision are deployed
Provide thought-leadership and updates to larger agency team and clients related tor retailer media networks, commerce strategies and best practices.
Work with analytics team to develop comprehensive measurement frameworks and analyzing retail sales reports
Express differences on Media Metrics
Show critical thinking & problem solving on a daily basis
Lead discussions on attribution, audience opportunities and intent internally and externally
Effectively communicate program status and progress against objectives to clients and commerce lead. Synthesizes relevant information on key milestones, success criteria, staff and client and risks. Escalate critical issues appropriately.

Leadership Expectations:
Responsible for management of direct reports as well as overall development and success of the team
Lead, develop and manage staff. Offer guidance support, direction and provide development opportunities
Ensure team has received all tools and training to excel in their roles. This includes but is not limited to deal math, sales techniques and excel
Accountability for team development; this includes utilizing organizational tools such as L&D, creating internal opportunity and challenges for staff, maintaining positive morale, partnering with HR and Business Leads on supporting organizational objectives
Cascades information and empowers the team to action
Clearly and efficiently delegate to team members while providing oversight on all projects

Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Marketing or a related field is preferable
5+ years of experience with within an agency environment required
3+ years managerial experience preferred
3+ years of shopper marketing/e-commerce marketing, media planning, strategy and digital investment experience from backgrounds including programmatic, performance marketing, retailer media, shopper media or paid search.
Experience with self-serve, in-platform programmatic activations (e.g., KPM, Amazon DSP, PMP activations through DSPs such as DV360, The Trade Desk) required
Experience in Consumer Package Goods industry (CPG) preferred
Sound understanding of the commerce media landscape, retailer media ecosystems, and go to market strategies
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment. At least four years’ experience creating the vision, roadmap, and strategic direction for highly complex technology projects.
2+ years’ experience leveraging a combination of retailer media networks, social commerce, or 3rd Party shopper media partners (InMarket, iBotta, etc) to deliver on business goals
Advanced/Cutting Edge knowledge of Google, Amazon, Criteo, and Walmart
Familiarity with commerce media tools and partners such as Profitero, Edge, Numerator, Kenshoo, and Pacvue
Advanced understanding of accelerating commerce growth through channels including but not limited to display via retail networks, paid search, and integration with upper funnel campaigns
Polished presence and presentations skills
Excellent writing skills with an attention to detail
Mastery of Microsoft Excel is required
Ability to multitask and handle other duties as assigned
