Job description

Our client, a global leader in the retail/tech and ecommerce space is looking to bring on an Associate Project Manager (Retail/Production focused) on a long-term freelance basis., starting immediately. This person will ideally be located in Chicago or Toronto; role will be remote for now and eventually transition to hybrid model. The ideal candidate is someone with retail production and installation experience. This person will manage all 3rd party display installations.

Overview: 

Reporting into the Project Manager, the Associate Project Manager will lead execution of production and installation of retail projects at the company's third party retailers for all product categories. This includes but not limited to: Product Displays, Retailer window imagery, Signage, fixture roll-outs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage production of brand retail projects in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Work collaboratively with marketing and COE functions to support the execution of new product launches and updates at third party retailers.
    • Lead the project management processes from vendor manufacturing to installation. Understanding creative, production, shipping and executional best practices.
    • Own and drive projects through to completion including corralling external vendors to ensure efficient and timely execution.
    • Manage the project budgets by obtaining and comparing quotes, issuing PO’s and ensuring projects invoiced and paid based on monthly budget allocation.
  • Lead the third-party display production that supports a premium, consistent branding across the various retailers and tiered experiences.
    • Consider the various retailer’s unique environments and support the retail solutions to solve for these variants.
    • Liaison closely with retail marketing and external partners to ensure programs are meeting brand guidelines and vision.
    • Own the project management process from display concept handover with external partners through third party implementation.
    • Be the primary liaison with printer, fixture venders and store installers. Be responsible for providing clear directives to all suppliers to ensure that products are represented in the best interests of the brand, the retailer and the customer.
    • Attend key installations and prototype reviews if required.
    • Support the maintenance of inventory/database system for all indirect retail footprints.
  • Be instrumental in the project management of fixture Shop in Shops/Fixture roll outs.
    • Own the project management process from fixture ordering, receiving account approvals & leading workback, installation and budget schedules.
    • Work with manager to ensure all retail environment planning is aligned with the brand's strategic retail priorities.
  • Brand Reputation
    • Act as a gatekeeper of the brand's story, heritage, ethos and brand on all content platforms and ensure we are always producing best-in-class, locally relevant content?within the strict reputation parameters. 

Requirements:

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Marketing or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management of retail initiatives from retail displays to fixture systems
  • Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills; this person can present information (both written and oral) clearly and concisely.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
  • Project management skills; this person must be able to plan, and execute until completion of the project.
  • Curiosity and initiative to explore and learn
  • Experience with MS Office – especially Excel / PPT
  • Strong team player, approachable and supportive. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects and assignments. 
  • Strong, credible and confident communicator.
