Brand Strategy Director

Full-time, Salaried Position
Location: Nashville, TN
Hybrid: Tue, Wed, Thur onsite; Mon + Fri, work from home
Salary: 135-150K


Independent, full-service advertising and marketing agency is searching for a Brand Strategy Director. They have major clients in tourism/hospitality, healthcare, retail and restaurants. Accolades include Advertising Age Silver Award for Agency Culture, Advertising Age Southeast Small Agency of the Year and Modern Healthcare Agency of the Year. Company size is roughly 105 employees and you will have 2-3 direct reports. In this role, you will focus primarily on two accounts but also will help with new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Build out strategy and planning processes to integrate within agency
  • Develop and deliver brand strategy, from vision to positioning to voice and messaging architecture
  • Partner on building of strategic omni-channel marketing plans
  • Develop fresh insights about the attitudes, needs, behaviors and relationships of all stakeholders
  • Strategic lead across multiple integrated campaigns, working with clients, creatives, and cross-functional partner agencies
  • Understand the client’s business needs, and how our strategies will deliver on their objectives and KPIs
  • Ensure meaningful client value is delivered through a mix of best-practice solutions, skills, capabilities, and original thinking
  • Identify key data points and measurements to show the impact of our approach and strategy on the client’s business
  • Own the creation of a new brand strategies across wider client business not just campaign/project

Your Experience:

  • Strong integrated strategic background working on both regional and large, complex businesses
  • Proven experience leading integrated strategy for transformative, business-driving work
  • Exceptional ability to: Author strategic documents & briefs, distill research into actionable insights, and offer strategic points of view and unexpected jumping off points that lead to creative and business opportunities
  • Understands how to give direction and partner with client and different brand, comms, service design and digital agencies
  • Natural presenter, comfortable and convincing in client meetings at every level (managers to C-suite)
  • Master of storytelling, building a compelling narrative in presentations
  • Understand all aspects of research design
  • Skillfully moderate interviews, groups, brainstorming sessions, etc.
  • Collaborative, empathetic with conviction and rationale for strategies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Communications, Business Administration or related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in planning at an agency or consulting firm
  • Experience in retail, insurance and health care is ideal
  • Experience translating data into actionable marketing recommendations and presentations – proficiency in PowerPoint required
  • The ability to identify business growth opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support the growth of client relationships
  • Winning new business experience
