Job description

Our client is a Swimwear Design and Manufacturing Company located in Long Beach, CA seeking a passionate and creative individual to join their growing Technical Color Team. This position will report into the Senior Color Specialist and work closely with the entire Design and Product Development teams.

Job Overview:
The Color Assistant role serves as the operations function for the Technical Color Team. The Color Assistant role reports to the Senior Color Specialist. Color Assistant supports color management functions, including color communication and logistics such as the procurement of color standards, management of physical and digital color library. The Color Assistant will ensure that these responsibilities are completed according to the product development calendar. The color Assistant will generate and monitor color management systems, including color approval status, seasonal metrics, and other data administration/processing as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Support color communication with cross functional teams.
• Process color management data via Natific Systems.
• Monitor color approval status for solids and prints.
• Procure physical and digital color standards for Technical Color Department.
• Update and maintain color standards and related records and files (physical and digital).
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Years of Related Professional Experience: Entry level or 1-3+ years relevant experience at a small to medium sized company, preferably in apparel.
• Educational/Position Requirements:
o BA/BS degree in Textiles, Apparel Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
o A proven track record in a service/support role.
• Color Science and/or textile dyeing and finishing experience or training preferred

Skills:
• Strong aptitude for systems and systematic work.
• Proven ability to manage and analyze large data sets.
• Personal computer proficiency with a focus on MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong interactive skills.
