THE ROLE

The Content Author / Executive will manage the creation and maintenance of website pages, to support new vehicle launches, as well as product and service updates for the sole client. The job entails working on the European mothersite by setting up new pages and uploading content within the content management system (CMS).

The client’s websites are currently undergoing a major overhaul. The scope of this role is to work on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).

As an experienced Content Author you will be expected to become an expert on using both content management systems and to provide advice and training to other teams where required.

As well as uploading content to the CMS, you will be responsible for deploying content to local markets, and creating implementation guides to show how to build and localise the European content into the local market sites. You will work closely with the Prague Hub Content executives who are responsible for all the individual sites across Europe.

We are looking for someone who is interested in digital content and creating best-in-class user experiences. You will need to have had some experience working on websites, and be able to pick up new systems quickly if you aren’t yet familiar with them. It’s likely that you will be technically-minded, but also interested in marketing and design. This is a busy role with a high volume of work to manage – including multiple projects at once – so you will need to be able to manage your time effectively in order to meet deadlines.

Roles & Responsibilities

The role covers the maintenance of content on the client’s websites, primarily through building, replacing, and uploading content in the CMS. Key stakeholders include the Prague Hub Content executives and various teams including the content team, project managers, account managers, SEO, analytics, UX, and creatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Uploading content (text, images, videos, and animations) to AEM
  • Ensuring support and cover is provided for the global UX team across all authoring and content focused tasks.
  • Quality assuring content before upload e.g. checking file weight sizes, and file formats are correct
  • Creating new pages within the CMS from a template, or by adding components to a page
  • Populating new pages with content provided by the project manager, content strategist, or account manager
  • Replacing or editing content to keep up-to-date
  • Managing site content amends from internal reviews with the content and creative teams, and from the clients
  • Preparing preview links for approvals of content, highlighting where any content is missing or incorrect
  • Managing the site content from build through reviews, and into deployment to local markets
  • Creating PowerPoint guides explaining what content has been created or changed on a web page so local markets know how to implement the changes
  • Make sure all site content is appropriately tagged and searchable (working with the analytics and SEO teams)
  • Attend daily standups with team and bi-monthly sprint planning meetings
  • Maintain documentation and guidance on content processes and keep this up-to-date at all times. Make sure processes are shared and followed by all relevant parties.
  • Track all web authoring tasks through an online tool (JIRA), responding in a timely manner to requests
  • Advise internal teams on content from a strategic perspective. Advise local markets on implementation of European recommendations.
  • Support the Digital Content Lead on all areas of content strategy work. Undertake administration for the team, and co-ordinate with other areas of the business.

Job Requirements

You must have gained prior experience in content strategy, digital content production, or website publishing. It is essential that you have previous experience in developing and implementing digital content, and that you are well used to working with creative and account teams. The ability to multi-task, self-manage and a have high attention to detail is absolutely essential. It is also essential that you have previous experience in using a content management system (CMS).

Person Specification

  • Experience using different content management systems (essential)
  • Experience using Adobe Experience Manager/ AEM (desirable)
  • Experience in JIRA and/or other project and ticket tracking tools (desirable)
  • Experience working in a digital content management role (essential)
  • Experience dealing with technical teams and troubleshooting issues (essential)
  • Educated to degree level, or with equivalent marketing qualifications
  • Experience in UX, HTML and CSS
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Automotive experience beneficial
  • Excellent oral and literacy skills, Computer literate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Competent in using all Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent attention to detail
