Job description

Our client is looking for a talented Content Writer to help support our marketing charter, editorial calendar and content development to build brand preference, audience engagement and digital authority. 

Responsibilities

•            Write and edit an array of externally facing short- and long-form content assets, including – but not limited to – blog and social media copy, bylined articles, white papers, e-books, Web pages, video scripts, product data sheets, case studies, brochures, survey reports, infographics and demo scripts

•            Write and edit activation content that promotes content assets, including landing pages, email nurtures, social promotional blocks and banner text

•            Write internal documents as necessary, such as sales enablement materials, employee communications and HR-related copy, and technical documentation

•            Work with content input documents such as corporate and solution messaging, audience and persona information, buyer’s journey and interaction details, marketing plans, and technology/industry trend information

•            Develop story pitches and present them for consideration

•            Using requirements indicated in creative briefs, articulate questions and identify gaps that must be addressed for effective content creation

•            Interview SMEs and other stakeholders or sources whose input should be reflected in content; identify, articulate and obtain closure on any conflicting information and/or other anomalies in input

•            Incorporate keywords identified by SMEs and/or project owners into the search engine optimization (SEO) keyword universe to ensure strong inbound traffic and search engine rankings

•            Manage copywriting project workflow and delivery

•            Iterate, proof and finalize content as required

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

•            Excellent writing and editing skills

•            Experience with multiple content asset and audience types

•            Journalistic storytelling skills; understanding of how to craft engaging content

•            Content lifecycle management and/or general project management

•            Ability to use content marketing platforms and tools

•            Excellent cross-functional collaboration, project management and consensus-building skills

•            Understanding of SEO keyword best practices

•            Ability to construct derivative content from primary content assets, such as creating infographics and blog posts using information from a research report

•            Ability to use Web publishing and content management and inventory tools

•            Advanced interviewing skills

•            Attention to detail

•            Excellent organizational skills

•            Time management

•            Excellent communicator, including keen listening skills

•            Creative and innovative – can see the “story” in the information

Experience

•            BA in English, journalism, marketing, liberal arts, media or communications

•            5 years’ related experience (e.g., publishing, editorial, journalism, content marketing, copywriting, digital marketing)

•            Corporate and B2B experience is a plus
