Position Description:

As a member of our team of highly experienced writing professionals at the world’s biggest retailer, your voice will embody our brand promise of helping people save money so they can live better. You’ll work with cross-functional, global partners to write clear, concise, user-friendly documentation and leadership communications. You’ll also team up with our awesome graphic designers to conceptualize engaging PowerPoint presentations and product one pagers.

This role requires strong, versatile writing skills. The pace of the work is fast, and the scope is ever-changing.

 

Responsibilities:

• Write and copyedit leadership announcements, online help articles, one-pagers, white papers, and UX content while maintaining company content/brand guidelines

• Work closely with leads, project managers, designers, and partners from Engineering and Product teams

• Organize and track all writing projects in Microsoft Planner

• Participate in the Writing team’s efforts to establish style and process guidelines, and make recommendations to help the team choose good tools for writing and publishing documentation

• Write and rigorously review and edit content to make complex concepts understandable and clear

• Advocate for the user by providing early feedback on UX design

• Work with product stakeholders to identify audience information requirements and important documentation deliverables

• Evaluate software products and provide feedback to improve functionality and usability

• Share your expertise with partners and collaborate regularly with UX Design, Research, and Program and Product Management

• Partner with leadership and internal teams to leverage existing content to achieve strategic goals while assessing needs for the development of new content to meet any opportunities

• Work cross-functionally with technical project managers, product managers, engineers, and visual designers to create product one-pagers

• Interview leaders and ghostwrite leadership blog articles

• Create branding and associate engagement messaging for an internal audience, such as all hands decks, awards, employee spotlight, hackathons, and newsletters

 

Education and Experience Qualifications:

• BA in English, Technical Writing, Creative Writing, or relevant area (Master's degree preferred)

• 5-10 years of experience in technical product documentation, UX copy, content marketing, and/or internal communications

• A diverse portfolio of writing samples that demonstrate effective technical writing, UX content, product copy, and internal communications
