Corporate Communications Specialist
Corporate Communications Specialist Overview:
The Specialist will be part of the Corporate Communications team and responsible for proactive, reactive and supporting PR tasks, with a particular focus on digitalization in the business. Primary channels are earned and owned media, with an emphasis on media strategy, tactics and reporting.
Corporate Communications Specialist Responsibilities:
- Support and ultimately manage PR for the client’s digitalization initiatives
- Annual and quarterly PR strategies to promote the client‘s Digital and broader digitalization across the business
- Execute said strategies in terms of story mining, asset and content development, pitching and story placement
- Maintain regular update meetings with project owners and digital leadership
- Lead development and tracking of new media and new audience strategies for the team
- Support PR initiatives within Corporate Communications for other areas of the business
- Drafting strategies and identifying media
- Tracking and helping respond to media inquiries
- Arranging and facilitating media interviews and tours
- Preparing coverage reports
- Help coordinate media initiatives with Product and Experiential PR
- Help prepare media events and executive interviews
- Write and edit frequent communications including articles, press releases, speeches, fact sheets, etc.
- Collaborate with team to identify Corporate story opportunities. Find and pitch appropriate media targets, manage story development in direct contact with media from beginning through publishing
- Create, update and maintain Corporate Communications log of coverage via daily media monitoring
- Update and curate media lists to maintain connections with established outlets and expand the reach of the Corporate Communications team to new media
Corporate Communications Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Communications (Journalism, Public Relations or related field), or equivalent background in related field of study
- Significant experience in communications/public relations/media relations - background in working journalism is a bonus
- Proven ability to develop and manage content
- Proven writing skills (articles, press releases, speeches, fact sheets, etc.)
- Media relations experience
- Knowledge of AP style
- Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate in a concise manner
- Ability to work in a matrixed organization with employees of all levels and senior management, as well as with vendors
- High degree of PC literacy; MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
