Title: Creative Director-Copy 

The Associate Creative Director - Copy is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of creative solutions through managing resources, strengths and disciplines. This individual has mastered the craft of conceptualizing and writing and has developed a keen understanding of how to develop approvable language within the constraints of pharmaceutical marketing. They will ensure the creative outputs are aligned with the strategy, behavioral, tone, and branding requirements identified in the creative brief. This key client-facing role marries hands-on creation and oversight with strategic insight.  


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Writing, Journalism, English, Advertising, or related
  • 7+ years of experience in an advertising or direct marketing agency
  • Portfolio that showcases strong experience in creative conceptual development as well as writing for healthcare/pharma advertising
  • Experience with behavioral science as applied to healthcare copy is a significant plus
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Ability to mentor and manage multiple Sr. BCs/BCs/Copywriters
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Ability to present and sell ideas
  • Solid understanding of creative development process, including digital, and the strategic thinking that drives successful implementation
  • Curiosity and intellectual engagement
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related programs and the ability to teach writing skills and techniques
  • Clear communicator


  • Supervises and manages a team of writers
  • Mentors writers to help elevate creative writin
  • Provides guidance to ensure behavioral and creative pull through
  • Supports writers developing or updating career maps
  • Works with ACD-Art/SAD/AD/Lead AD/Principle AD on creative development
  • Works with Behavioral and Strategy to ensure alignment and pull through
  • Works with Account to ensure brand goals are addressed and to provide expertise
  • Reviews and provides direction and feedback
  • Reviews briefs and curricula to ensure alignment with strategy and account
  • Provides direction to behavioral copywriters, setting the tone, style, and voice for projects
  • Reviews copy and layout to ensure pull through of behavioral, brand and strategic goals as well as creative concepts
  • Works with Account and PMs to ensure deadlines are met and workflow is efficient
  • Works with and mentors Senior Behavioral Copywriters/Behavioral Copywriters to develop their abilities and elevate the writing
  • Actively participates in brainstorming sessions with other team members
  • Oversees day-to-day aspects of completing projects
  • Reviews work from Senior Behavioral Copywriters/Behavioral Copywriters and provides actionable feedback
