Our client, a well-known financial institution, is looking to bring on a freelance Data Management Principal Consultant, for a 12 month contract. 40 hours a week and role will be remote until further notice, but team is located in Charlotte, NC. If candidates are local to that area, that is ideal!
General Role Overview/Details:
- Identify and research new technologies, solutions, and deep learning capabilities that solve relevant business problems, including reinforcement learning, semi-supervised learning, unsupervised learning.
- Develop and implement a data management, data quality or metadata research plan that may include small teams.
- Engage with and support data management teams with technical guidance and direction.
- Influence and teach others in new areas by writing papers, giving presentations internal and external, leading courses and curriculum, giving demonstrations.
- Researches new technologies, solutions, and techniques. 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis 2+ years of academic research experience 2+ years of communication experience in one or a combination of the following: facilitating technical conferences, publishing articles, or delivering tailored presentations
- Manage technically complex, data intensive processes with significant operational and regulatory risk
- Enhance report production processes and related control environment to ensure timely and accurate reporting to key stakeholders
- Ensure documentation and control processes are established and followed
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis 2+ years of academic research experience 2+ years of communication experience in one or a combination of the following: facilitating technical conferences, publishing articles, or delivering tailored presentations
- Strong data analysis/data extraction experience with SQL across various RDMS (Relational Database Management System) Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata
- Strong PC SAS/Enterprise Guide experience on a distributed (Grid) Unix/Linux platform
- Ability to manipulate, extract, process and analyze large data set
Desired Qualifications:
- Python experience is a plus
- General Ledger knowledge and experience
- A BS/BA degree or higher in one or more: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting Ability to operate in matrixed environment
- Prior experience in Treasury, Finance or Liquidity Risk Management is a plus
