Our client is a well-known multi-brand beauty company that is seeking a new Demand Planner too join their team!

Demand Planner Job Summary:

The Planner, Demand Planning will be responsible for SKU level forecasting for the brand's domestic business, focusing on the DTC channel. The ideal candidate should have expertise and experience in creation and maintenance of monthly item level sell-in forecasts in IBP (planning tool) as part of the monthly demand/S&OP cycle (factoring in: sales trend, cannibalization, promotions, events, channel inventory, distribution changes, etc.). This item level forecast is the basis for collaboration and alignment with cross-functional partners within the brands commercial organization, supply chain and with key retail partners. The ideal candidate will support the Sr. Manager of Demand Planning on ad hoc reporting and processes as needed. This includes preparing all analyses, effectively communicating forecast changes and recommendations, and building relationships with respective teams

Demand Planner Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Item level forecasting for US DTC brand portfolio comprising 1,000+ finished good and POSM SKUs, plus including three DTC channels.
  • Assist in analyzing new launch forecast to support US new launch consensus
  • Collaborate with key US channel planners and account executives to gain alignment with forecasts and specific programs and events
  • Participate in monthly alignment meetings with sales, marketing and finance teams to ensure reconciliation of demand plan to business needs and financial plans
  • Communicate the recommended forecast changes to manager in preparation for monthly retailer alignment meetings and pre-consensus
  • Ad hoc reporting creation in IBP & Cognos, and analysis to maximize forecast accuracy and achieve business objectives

Demand Planner Qualifications:

  • Advanced MS Excel skills: demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand, advanced formulas and pivot table, a must
  • Advanced MS Power Point skills: demonstrated ability to summarize analysis into slides appropriate for distribution across the organization/management
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely to peers and senior leadership
  • Attention to detail and accuracy on multiple projects under time pressure
  • Highly analytical and extremely self-motivated with critical thinking mindset
  • Ability to quickly adapt in a highly collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with enterprise forecasting systems and tools (i.e. IBM Cognos, SAP IBP, etc.)
  • 1-3 years’ experience in demand planning (beauty or CPG preferred), relevant data analysis, business planning, sales/client facing, and supply chain experience a PLUS
  • 4-year bachelor's degree required: major in business, finance, supply chain, or related field preferred
  • IBF or APICS certification a plus
