Deployment Project Manager

THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Head of Project Management Operations, the Deployment Project Manager is responsible for the delivery into Markets of significant Pan-European projects.  You will help define the rollout strategy and implement it. You will work closely with the European markets, delivering reports and ensuring the smooth communication between the rest of our specialist cross-functional team.   

This role is a Pan-European role and will empower you to make central decisions with the European team which are then communicated out to markets. You will engage with multiple teams with various regional needs and have the ability to influence processes, whilst working with the agency’s largest client within a truly integrated, full-service ad agency. 

Role objectives

  • Manage the variety of requests that come in from the European markets and ensure governance guidelines are maintained on the platform. Be proactive in recognising when updates need to be introduced into the European Markets. 

  • Ensure that the project is aligned with other dependent work streams. 

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

Project deployment to Markets 

  • Responsible for collaborating on the rollout plan and for managing governance for a significant project across multiple European Markets.

  • Collaborate with internal Teams and international partner agencies involved in the project to ensure that the plan is accelerated but realistic. The aim is to challenge established processes and look for faster and more efficient ways to deploy for the Client.

  • Create a rollout strategy, including relevant presentations and guides, that can be communicated to the Client, European Markets, Colleagues on the project and other stakeholders. With support from the Platform Director, drive buy-in for the strategy and establish it.

  • The rollout is broken down into waves across 22 European Markets. Manage the relevant wave of Markets whilst planning for future waves. Able to plan for the future whilst delivering in the present.

  • Ensure that all project resource is aligned, both Agency and Client, across the project. 

  • Responsible for excellent communication and reporting with Clients involved in the project. Clients have relationships with individual Markets that need to be aligned.

Work stream alignment 

  • Support the Head of Project Management Operations and Agile Project Manager in ensuring that the project is aligned with multiple work streams that sit outside of deployment but are dependencies. These include governance rules for markets, content work streams and authoring work streams.

  • Run a workstream meeting and manage all updates and trackers related to the meeting.

Other related tasks 

  • Responsible for project finance tracking to support the Programme Lead. Ensure that all spend is track and reports kept up to date. 

  • Building client and market relationships.

  • Demonstrate forward-planning and the ability to balance your workload and proactively implement solutions.

  • Experienced in working in a multicultural team and being able to clarify different cultural points of view.

  • Management reporting of approvals (involving central FoE clients) of all deployments.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of client structure and infrastructure.

  • Project management and financial management (Maconomy).

  • Web conferencing management and seamless regular information cascade to agencies/clients.

Skills & Approach 

Be present: 

  • Whilst we understand that everyone has different working approaches, we expect that a Deployment Project Manager will be very visible both within the agency and to clients. 

  • Need to be present and vocal in key meetings.

Solve problems:

  • Our expectation is that a Deployment Project Manager takes responsibility for working with and helping to solve their Team’s problems.

Team Integration: 

  • Need to understand all projects and teams and the roadmap.

  • Develops positive, proactive relationships with Client and Agency team creating a stimulating environment within which the best work can develop

  • Is engaged and works on all elements of a project across its lifecycle within the platform team and with relevant members. 

  • Ability to recognise when to engage senior management (and when issues need to be escalated).

  • Create a motivating and inspiring environment for those around you (at every level).

THE REQUIREMENTS

You must have Project/Account Managerial (or other relevant) experience. Experience with European-wide projects is preferable, but not mandatory.  

Experience, Qualifications & Skills 

  • Project Management Qualification 

  • Educated to degree or equivalent level. 

  • Preferably some solid experience in a Project Management role, ideally international coordination.

  • Working knowledge of through-the-line communication would be a clear bonus.

  • Computer literate – strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel software applications are a must.

  • Being able to quickly adapt to operate on various systems (MS Project, Trello, JIRA) 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of foreign language would be clearly a bonus given the nature of the role.

  • Excellent English (both excellent oral and literacy skills) is a mandatory.

  • Ability to self-organize, prioritise etc. is crucial
