Our client is a digitally native brand known for their socially relevant founder! They are seeking a talented Director of E-commerce to join their team.

 

Director of E-commerce Overview:

The Director of E-commerce is responsible for directing the e-commerce strategy across all channels and implementing emerging technologies. You are also responsible for maintaining the budget and P&L for all e-commerce activities and presenting performance reports to management. The Director of E-commerce will lead the strategy and execution of our online store. You are goal-oriented, data-driven and a highly entrepreneurial professional who can take the company to the next level by keeping up with best-in-class competitors and ensuring the online experience and branding is aligned with other channels.

 

Director of E-commerce Responsibilities:

  • Lead orchestrated strategy of digital store through merchandising, content, design, marketing, innovation, and operations to drive additional traffic and sales
  • Partner with creative, supply chain, customer service, marketing, and web development teams to ensure seamless experiences for customers and prospects upon their first visit to the site, and on subsequent visits
  • Manage business performance by tracking and analyzing sales information and site metrics to identify new opportunities to increase sales and site conversion
  • Identify and implement emerging technologies and best practices to drive profitable growth
  • Create and maintain the budget and P&L for all e-commerce and related operations, marketing, and sales
  • Frame and map opportunities based on historical results and current trends to maximize sales
  • Partner with Digital Marketing, CRM, Creative, and Analytics to develop and test innovative site design enhancements
  • Develop omni-channel strategies to maximize the customer experience
  • Manage e-commerce technology roadmap including strategy, budget, execution, and maintenance
  • Manage all order, inventory, and payment processes
  • Work closely with IT, fulfillment center, call center and stores to trouble shoot and manage any exception handling and new releases
  • Use data to translate business needs/strategy into a relevant customer experience development, leading to concrete UX and site experience, content, and technical requirements
  • Create personalized onsite journeys
  • Own and manage P & L of e-commerce business developing strategies to deliver financial plans

 

Director of E-commerce Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Shopify Plus experience is a must! 
  • 7+ years’ experience managing an e-commerce or direct sales business with full P&L responsibility
  • Extensive knowledge of current e-commerce technologies and of current/emerging e-commerce industry best practices
  • Proven track record of site optimization with a strong focus on conversion rate
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms and site analytics tools
  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience interpreting test results & drawing conclusions
  • Strong leadership skills to grow and manage a best-in-class e-commerce team towards common vision and results
  • Demonstrated strong business judgement and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives
  • Entrepreneurial drive and inclination towards omni-channel
