Job description

Responsibilities
• Responsible for all product development and technical design deliverables for product and packaging
• Ensure all development deadlines are met on time and are aligned to quality and product goals
• Work closely with VP of Merchandising on team workflow and priorities
• Engineer and implement effective, optimized processes for line development across the team
• Source new fabrics, techniques, technology,trims,labels, processes to keep our products full of sneaky performance.
• Work with Design and Tech Design pre-season to develop all trims, elastics, buttons and interior componentry as well as pre position materials
• Develop the line with third party resources including but not limited to requesting samples, advising on all deadline and technical questions, processing sample submits for comments, preparing sales and marketing sample needs.
• Support the first cost process including but not limited to the submission and cataloging of cost request foms, maintaining first cost margin work sheets, running first cost margin scenarios
• Partner with Design and Technical Design to ensure that the techpacks going out to vendors for development are clear, complete, and timely
• Oversee technical design ensuring best in class fit and construction
• Communicate daily with factories to ensure the on-time delivery and quality of protypes
• Mentor, coach and develop career path for direct reports
• Facilitiate opportunities to engineer product cost while maintaining quality, performance characteristics and design intent
• Manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis and take on additional product development process related projects
• Prepare and oversee sales and marketing sample requirements






Qualifications
• 10 years' minimum experience in Product Development of apparel, 5 years in a leadership role managing a team
• Must possess excellent communication, organizational, planning, and leadership skills
• Extensive knowledge of fit, fabric, garment construction, trims and applications as well as packaging materials, finishes and treatments
• Ability to pivot and be adaptable while consistently delivering under pressure in a face-paced environment
• Resourceful, can-do attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in working with PLM systems
• reference for candidates fluent in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to travel overseas 2-3 times a year
