Our client, an LA based apparel brand, is seeking a Director of Production to join their team. The Director of Production will lead a team responsible for the execution, and communication of production related strategies. This role interfaces with cross functional teams that include Sales, Merchandising, Product Development, Technical Design, and Warehousing who are collectively responsible for product strategies to support end-to-end process. This role will oversee the production lifecycle from time of development handover to vendor handover.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to see the bigger picture and influence/evolve overall department processes and efficiencies while providing support and guidance to the team in a detailed, hands-on manner. People management and coaching will be paramount as this candidate focuses on successful deliverables for the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Production team across total business with a focus on successful execution.
- Oversee all active production to ensure goods are handed over on time, on budget, and in line with quality standards.
- Continuously evaluate new suppliers with VP of Sourcing to ensure the company always has a diversified, but efficient network of best-in-class vendors in place to support all channels of business
- Direct the onboarding of all production vendors on standards and ensure compliance with company standards on an ongoing basis. This work will be a combined effort with TD and QA, QC and Compliance
- Establish materials and factory capacity protocols for total transparency and success of product placement strategy across all accounts.
- Continuously work to reduce lead times and improve speed and flexibility to the company’s inbound supply chain. Close collaborative approach with the Pre-Prod, TD and wash team is essential.
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Sales and Development teams to ensure accurate data integrity throughout the product lifestyle process.
- Work closely with QC, QA, Compliance and Testing to ensure vendors follow all company protocols
- Oversee and streamline all tracking, reporting and scorecards for all vendors.
- Manage departmental career development initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Expert knowledge of garment development, production, fabric and quality processes.
- Proven track record of building high performing teams who handle a varied group of accounts, on separate calendar deliverables.
- Exceptional cross functional partnership building and transparency
- Coaching, leading and skills in complex team management
- Experience in geographically diverse vendor base with varied volume requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and exceptional ability to identify and improve processes collaboratively

- Outstanding communication skills
- Walmart and Costco experience a plus
- Private Label brand management a plus
