Job description

Our client is looking for a Domestic Sourcing & Purchasing Manager ready to source, cost, merchandise, and purchase softlines and hardlines for their apparel business. This position is a part of the Supply Chain Department and sits in the South Bay.  Position will report to the Director of Supply Chain. We are looking for an individual who has experience working with wholesale vendors, costing items for resale, knowledge of garment embellishment, and an understanding of manufacturing and production timelines. This individual thrives under pressure, multi- tasks and have a keen eye for product selection.

Strategy:
Develop and execute procurement strategies.
Ability to analyze domestic buying patterns to improve buying opportunities
Foster strong vendor partnerships to provide aggressive costing and superior service level agreements.
Set standards for vendor, product and delivery performance.
Propose process and system enhancements that will improve our inventory and Non-Inventory business models
Ability to streamline new processes that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business needs
Manage supplier scorecards and performance reviews for SLAs, quality, and price.
Manage a team of 3 within sourcing and purchasing

Sourcing:
Execute RFP assortment sourcing and costing for new prospect or current customers
Develop merchandising assortments for hardlines and softlines to aid in the growth of organic
sales
Develop product timelines and communicate ETAs to Sales and Account Management Teams
Lead supplier selection and negotiation processes for improved cost, terms and flexibility
Create costing proformas in NetSuite

Purchasing:
Analyze existing purchasing processes for performance and implement improvements
Supervise the preparation of purchase orders regarding inventory and Non-Inventory items.
Create purchase orders as needed based on team workload

Embellishment:
Possess a good understanding of embroidery, heat transfer, direct-to-garment and screen printing
Communicate and work with domestic embellishers to maintain calendar deadlines and deliver quality product
Help with identifying opportunities to increase productivity and profitability on embellished product
Monitor production schedules with internal and third-party embellishers to meet customer needs

Qualifications
Education: 4 -year college degree
Five plus years of experience in Procurement and managing teams preferably in apparel
Critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Strong business and negotiation skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Strong computer skills including data analysis and Microsoft excel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy
Understanding of the apparel manufacturing process is a plus
Experience with production embellishment techniques (i.e. Screen Print, Heat Transfers and Embroidery)
