E-Commerce Director Overview:
This role will help build out the requirements for ecommerce site, marketing technology stack including email marketing, social, retargeting, marketing automation, personalization etc.
E-Commerce Director Responsibilities
· Develop operational e-commerce strategies and execute on all initiatives including short and long-term objectives, customer metrics and overall performance
· Leverage data to identify, analyze and report on trends and patterns and use this data to optimize the website
· Partner with marketing team on e-mail marketing strategy and calendar, while driving deployment, segmentation, and A/B testing plans
· Regularly analyze web analytics and business performance for opportunities to maximize digital sales and client engagement/retention
· Lead, manage, and execute tasks required to maintain the site including promotions, site content updates, merchandising, product setup and A/B testing ensuring that functionality meets and exceeds company expectations
· Review the site daily with a customer-first mindset; reacting to current business and trends to drive conversion using Google Analytics metrics and inventory reports
· Evaluate issues and effectively communicate technical and non-technical solutions to peers and customers in a timely manner
· Conduct final user testing and quality insurance processes. Collaborate and lead to ensure promotions, site enhancements, and content are properly setup, scheduled, and QA'ed on site prior to launch
· Ensure all aspects of site merchandising are on brand, employ best practices, and hit defined KPI's
· Work with Digital Marketing to provide linking strategies that provide the fast path to product and conversion
· Communicate with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams with regards to site, product, and promotion updates
· Conduct ongoing competitive and benchmark analysis. Monitor industry benchmarks, trends and best practices
E-Commerce Director Qualifications
· Extensive knowledge of online marketing, e-commerce, social media, email marketing, content marketing and content creation
· Strong understanding of Shopify, Mailchimp ESP, Google Shopping, and AdWords
· A strategic thinker and digital innovator
· Detail-oriented, organized, and self-starting individual
· MS Office Software proficiency
