Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Designer/Art Director is responsible for executing the creation and delivery of engaging on-brand design, while ensuring all projects are aligned with the client's goals and established aesthetics, are completed on time, and are of the highest quality
• Design and art direct engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media including: social media projects; email campaign ads, banner ads, signage, posters, trade show graphics, and other items
• Oversee and maintain the quality and completion of all work projects assigned to the Design department
• Ensure designs and content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and company ideals, as established by company leadership
• Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution; anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions; establish schedules for short-term and long-term projects, plan tasks accordingly, and ensure goals and deadlines are met
• Serve as a liaison between the client and external vendors/partners to create media/projects that align with the client's brand
• Serve as a liaison between the marketing and design team and other departments, company leadership, etc
• Assist in hiring and managing freelance, full-time or third-party Designers, Motion Graphics Artists, Web Developers, and other contributors and team members
• Provide guidance and leadership to support staff and encourage a positive work environment
• Oversee deliverables, timelines and departmental budgets
• Maintain job knowledge by attending workshops and/or participating in professional development
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics and integrity
• Conduct all activities in accordance with the highest ethical standards 
• Additional related duties may be assigned, as needed by the supervisor or department


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Required soft-skills include, but are not limited to; accountable, self-motivated, adaptable, efficient time management, organizational skills and strong communication skills
• Bachelor's degree required
• Project management, and leadership experience required
• Knowledge of marketing, design, and social media trends required
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and MS Word, Adobe, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
• Demonstrate personal integrity and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact successfully with a diverse constituency, including vendors, students, faculty, and staff
• Must work well under pressure and be able to manage diverse teams working on multiple projects under strict deadlines
• Extreme attention to detail, including top-notch organizing and multitasking skills, handle multiple projects and prioritize accordingly
• Highly collaborative with excellent work ethic to produce deliverables with speed and humility
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Integrate new knowledge from a variety of sources with previous knowledge
• Read, write legibly, proofread and follow written and oral instructions in English
• Communicate clearly, effectively and respectfully in writing and orally
