Our client is one of the fastest growing global beauty companies that is disrupting the beauty industry through their innovative and independent manufacturing methods. They are renovating the rules on self-tanning with their pioneering and state of the art techniques. As a rapidly growing international company, our client is looking for a Head of Commercial to join their team in Manhattan, New York. The Director of Sales and Planning will report to the VP of Sales and Education and will manage the company’s relationships with a portfolio of clients while growing the stable of brands sold across the North American market. Our client is looking for someone with a passion for beauty and an enthusiastic drive to be part of a company that is rewriting the norms of the industry.




· Work with VP of Sales and Education to develop an annual strategy for every partner (including financial forecast, training needs, marketing activity etc.). Ensure all relevant departments (i.e. marketing, social etc.) that can influence/impact the outcome/performance are involved.

· Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. weekly/monthly sales, annual forecasts etc.)

· Manage JBP across key retail partners and align strategic initiatives across brands

· Oversee and manage all visual merchandizing, retail and trade marketing program execution

· Develop new business strategy with existing partners and/or identify growth opportunities to meet sales forecast.

· Coordinate with cross-functional internal teams to ensure consistent service.

· Liaise with logistics to ensure clients receive goods in the expected timeframe and manage client expectations should there be any delay.

· Manage sales team of 4-5, providing support and guidance in strategy, forecasting/budgeting and execution of plans across retail partners

· Communicate with global supply chain partners to ensure healthy stock positions and flag




· Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sell-through data to advise on strategy for the business

· Knowledge of Nielsen and IRI data and ability to read, interpret and advise based on findings

· Ability to translate market insight to business strategy and drive implementable plans

· People management and mentoring abilities

· Ability to present sales strategy, and execute on plans

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and explain sales information clearly and confidently

· Ability to think strategically and create a bigger picture vision while also executing that vision

· Self-motivated and proactive

· Highly organized and able to see multiple projects through completion

· Enthusiastic, collaborative and energetic.





Bachelor’s degree required


  • 5+ years of experience in Sales/Management role for a main retailer, preferably in the beauty or CPG industry.
  • Experience across several beauty retailers required, with experience at Ulta and mass preferred
  • Proven success working with retailers, managing daily business needs and identifying new opportunities

  • Potential travel needed to build up relationship with distributors
