Client Overview: 

Our client is a rapidly growing venture backed eCommerce app that’s changing the way consumers shop in a fun, engaging and innovative way.  

Head of Merchandising and Content Overview:

Within this role, you will be leading the strategy and execution of the app’s store front. You will oversee digital merchandising across multiple categories and lead overall creative assets for men’s and women’s apparel and accessories.

You are goal-oriented, data-driven and a highly entrepreneurial professional who can take the company to the next level by keeping up with best-in-class competitors and ensuring the online experience and branding is top notch.

Head of Merchandising and Content Responsibilities:

  • Lead orchestrated strategy of digital store through merchandising, content, design, marketing, innovation, and operations to drive additional traffic and sales
  • Partner with creative, growth and sales team to ensure seamless experiences for customers and sellers
  • Partner with CRM and Tech teams to develop and test innovative app design enhancements
  • Communicate with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams with regards to site, product, and promotion updates
  • Use data to translate business needs/strategy into a relevant customer experience development, leading to concrete UX and site experience, content, and technical requirements
  • Manage business performance by tracking and analyzing sales information and site metrics to identify new opportunities to increase sales, site conversion and client engagement/retention
  • Identify and implement eCommerce merchandising best practices to drive profitable growth and hit defined KPI’s
  • Frame and map opportunities based on historical results and current trends to maximize sales and customer experience
  • Lead, manage, and execute tasks required to maintain the site including promotions, site content updates, merchandising and product setup ensuring that functionality meets and exceeds company expectations
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and benchmark analysis. Monitor industry benchmarks, trends and best practices
  • Create personalized onsite journeys
  • Identify new opportunities such as new vendors, sourcing in new markets and maintain strong relationships with various cross-functional partners 
  • Review app daily with customer-first mindset to evaluate any issues and effectively communicate technical and non-technical solutions to peers in a timely manner  

Head of Merchandising and Content Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 5+ years of senior level experience in overseeing digital content for fashion and/or eCommerce merchandising
  • Extensive knowledge of current e-commerce technologies and of current/emerging e-commerce industry best practices
  • Demonstrated strong business judgement and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives  
  • Strong leadership skills to grow and manage a best-in-class e-commerce team towards common vision and results
  • Entrepreneurial drive
