Our client is a well-known multi-brand beauty company that is seeking a new Lab Specialist to join their team!
Lab Specialist Job Summary:
The primary focus of this position is to manage the package testing and other validation activities of all Brand products as related to Packaging.
Lab Specialist Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Lead measurement and validation testing for all of brand’s packaging products, utilizing internal Home Office (GIC – Global Innovation Center in Japan) protocols and methods
• Assist with the organization and maintenance of the laboratory
• Work in a team environment with other lab personnel to develop best practices
• Test packaging samples to help validate products and to ensure compliance to internal specifications
• Utilize organizational skills to accurately record data and observations, identify potential root causes of any issues, record the final test results, summarize and issue a final report to the requestor
• Work with the internal formulation team (AIC), external Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners, as well as brand teams (when required) to communicate test results
• Help to maintain the packaging test database or other data management system
• Perform duties in a safe and organized manner. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and safety practices in the Packaging Lab
• Initiating testing within 48 hours of receipt of all information and samples
• Issue final summary reports within 5 business days following completion of any testing
• Yearly objectives as assigned
• Placing purchase orders in the current P.O. system (e.g. MAPICS and / or SAP)
• Ordering components from the warehouse, ADC or from external suppliers
• Ordering formula from the warehouse, CMs or AIC team
Qualifications & Competencies:
• Bachelor or Associates Degree in an Engineering curriculum (or similar degree) and / or experience in a factory or laboratory is desired
• Must be able to perform basic math calculations (e.g. adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing)
• Must have good communication skills and be able to write basic summary reports
• Experience in a laboratory environment is a plus
• Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook or similar e-mail system
• Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat is a plus
• Experience using laboratory measurement and test equipment (weigh scales, force gauge, torque gauge, calipers, etc.) is a plus
