Job description

Our client is an iconic retailer offering a wide-array of products spanning from home, entertainment, and clothing. With their high-quality products, diverse selection, and exceptional customer service, it’s never been easier to find everything you need in one convenient location. They are looking to add a Operations Manager to their team on contract over the next 12 months that is likely to extend and possibly become full time.

Responsibilities:

- Directs, motivates, inspires, influences, and negotiates with functional leadership on product process goals. 
- Act as "product conscience" for the category/division. 
- Provides Category Leads, Development Directors, and Manufacturing and Innovation teams with information they need to run their businesses. 
- Teams with categorical/divisional management to optimize the line plan with the available resources Communicates business priorities to product team in order to facilitates decision-making and makes go/no-go decisions when product team is undecided or split. 
- Plans and tracks key business milestones for the category/division, and ensure product is at key review meetings. 
- Provides Category Leads, Development Directors, and Manufacturing and Innovation teams with information they need to run their businesses. Maintains strong connections with manufacturing offices regarding quality and production issues, and makes decisions around the quality and profitability of product. 
- Tracks and measures Global Product Performance & profitability through sales/margin reports. 
- Works with Pricing to educate and initiate product cost reduction strategies. 
- Ensures pricing targets are established to align with and meet the category/divisional goals. 
- Influence the materials staff to support both the innovation and associated margin targets. 
- Catalyst for Lean/NOS.

Skills:    
- Understands organizational and product strategies and priorities, as well as future trends, and fosters common goals across functional disciplines. 
- Must posses a strong client focused approach to work. 
- Effective project and resource management experience with a proactive approach to team specific issues.
