Overview:
Our client, a leader in the beauty and Retail space, is looking for an Outbound Transportation Coordinator to join the team on a freelance basis. This role is completely remote! This person will perform specialized operational functions on a daily basis to support the Outbound Transportation team. 

Perform specialized operational functions on a daily basis to support the Outbound Transportation team. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to contracted carriers, brand's retail stores and Distribution Centers.
 

The Outbound Transportation Coordinator Will: 

  • Perform daily carrier track & trace up to 3x per day. Communicate all loads at risk of service failure (i.e.: picking up or delivering late).
  • Audit internal carrier and delivery schedules for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Tender outbound loads to company's contracted carriers through TMS (BluJay).
  • Communicate potential schedule failures to the appropriate parties, i.e.: supervisor, carrier, store. Proactively follow up as required to ensure desired service results. 
  • Proactively follow up with stores to ensure specialized deliveries are occurring as scheduled.
  • Answer customer service hotline as a support function and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Outbound Transportation Coordinator Must Have: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 2 years transportation experience preferred.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Able to effectively use Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to evaluate situations and make informed decisions. 
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to review and accurately update detailed schedules.
  • Able to professionally communicate with stores, carriers and pool representatives on the telephone and in writing.
  • Flexibility in daily task assignments.
  • TMS experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel with lookup functions (EX: Vlookups)
