Job Description:
You will be responsible for execution of packaging artwork from approved concept to finished product.
This includes but is not limited to:
• Partnering with creative project managers on the reception of, creation, and turnover of assets
• Placing artwork and copy according to layout standards and any applicable regulatory parameters
• Applying appropriate (chosen) specifications for printing in mechanicals
• Creating accurate, print-ready production files, ensuring that vendors have comprehensive production direction on all jobs
• Partnering with project managers to effectively deliver projects for production on-time by meeting milestones
• Coordinating match print production and comp creation, as needed, internally and externally with project managers
• Working with creative project managers on reviews, revisions, and approvals of files for production release
• Reviewing both digital and print proofs and preparing them for office reviews
• Documenting any recommended/required changes
• Contribute to the development of packaging design standards and templates by acting as a gatekeeper of consistency throughout the layout of products
• Assist with the production of printed collateral (press releases, retail signage, etc.) as needed
• Work cross-functionally within the creative department and project management to ensure the smooth execution of projects
• Manage color accuracy throughout the packaging library
• Assist in digital retouching and color correction as needed
• Collaborate with creative project manager team and product/packaging development team to ensure proper turnover of assets pending vendor’s specifications
• Review die line against white sample and comp mockup to ensure die line accuracy
• Ensure that mechanical released files match the most comprehensive approved copy
• Assist with additional projects/assignments as directed by your manager

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of professional work experience as a Packaging Production Designer in consumer packaged goods, ideally in beauty or food
• Strong understanding of print production and setting up art mechanicals, specifically for packaging, including printing & technical expertise for materials, inks and printing techniques
• Elevated design aesthetic and exceptional typography skills
• Experience with multilingual packaging design, global executions
• Highly proficient in Adobe CC – Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop
• Experience working with Smartsheets, Basecamp, and other project management tools, BOX and DAM Systems
