Job Overview:
This is a full time role for senior level candidate who is meticulous with details and driven by the pattern making aspect of the design process. This pattern maker will partner with Design for the implementation and execution of the fitting and pattern making process. This process will play a key role in improving overall fit and aesthetic of Proto samples, to increasing overall speed to market. This position requires an out of the box thinker who can collaborate with the existing team, outside vendors and across all levels of the organization. Must be comfortable draping and doing manual patterns, must know different types of fabrics- especially ready to wear, bridal, evening gowns. 70% manual draping/ 30% Gerber.

Position responsibilities and daily tasks:

-Partner with Design through the hand off and 3D fitting process

-Create and adjust patterns in digital software (Gerber)

-Work with inhouse studio, cutting and sewing departments to create proto type & sew by samples

-Conduct fitting with Design and other cross functional teams, and adjust patterns accordingly

-Communicate with vendors to ensure desired fit and design intent is executed

-Ensure all pattern revisions are completed within a timely manner to ensure deadlines are maintained

-Manage reporting for internal communications

-Complete ad hoc assign by management

What does a candidate need to demonstrate to perform this job successfully:

-Strong understanding of construction and patterns

-Create cutting tickets, mini markers, and sewing instructions for the Studio team

-High level of attention to detail

-Ability to multi-task while staying organized

-High sense of urgency, punctuality and timeliness

-Must have a strong work ethic and motivation to learn

-Works well individually, as well as, with a team

-Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Minimum candidate qualifications (years of experience, education level, technical skills, software, etc):

-Degree in apparel manufacturing, product development or apparel design related field

-10+ years work experience as pattern maker

-Proficient in digital pattern making programs: Gerber, Tukatech or similar

-In depth knowledge of fabric, apparel, materials, construction and fit

Preferred qualifications (years of experience, education level, technical skills, software, etc):

-Consistent work experience and steady career progression as a pattern maker

-Work experience at premium and/or contemporary women’s fashion brands
