Our startup client is growing and looking to add a Platform Engineering Lead responsible for design and development of enterprise grade platform-level features to their team full time with benefits! The primary focus of this role will be the implementation of server-side logic, data model design and implementation, maintenance of a central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness (e.g., requests from the front-end). The role also requires enhancement of existing integration modules to interact with external systems like Salesforce, Gmail, Zoom and Gong, and Elastic - just to name a few.
You may also be required to debug or enhance python code running NLP workflows, thus a working knowledge of python is an added plus. Our application is designed to run both on-prem and SaaS, hence understanding of docker based microservices is required. Even though the role primarily focuses on “back-end”, we expect the lead to take day to day ownership of the product, and have a "figure-it-out and get-it-down" attitude. Therefore, the ideal candidate should have the ability to understand and leverage new technologies, including front-end (e.g., React), and is willing to wear multiple hats including business analyst, DBA, QA, and team lead / project manager.

8+ years experience in hands-on engineering roles. Bachelor's/Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or software programming related field of study

Proficiency in Java, JDBC, Relational databases, SQL, REST, Tomcat, AWS stack, integration technologies, scripting (perl/python) alongwith full familiarity with Maven, Ant and repositories

Familiarity with Spring Boot application, search technologies like Elastic and NoSql databases like Cassandra is a huge plus

Experience with AWS EC2 systems is an added plus

Must be proficient with the entire software lifecycle - requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment, performance, and support

Knowledge of Enterprise integration-as-a-service technologies is a HUGE plus; added bonus would be experience integrating with Salesforce CRM and Google Apps (email, calendar)

Python, Machine Learning or NLP experience will be super

Experience with container technologies like Docker; familiarity with hybrid cloud deployments (on-prem, public) a plus

Experience with Enterprise security (e.g., SSO) a plus

Comfortable in fast-paced environments and quick decision making; asks good questions

Strong verbal and written communication skills; can explain complex ideas simply to a non-technical audience

Experience managing a small team of engineers is a plus
