Product Development Manager in Jericho

Our client is a well-known gifting and and floral company that is seeking a new Product Development Manager for their food-gifts division based in Jericho Long Island!

Product Development Manager:

The Product Development Manager is a motivated self-starter with experience in ecommerce, the gourmet food industry, online gifting, or similar direct to consumer experience. They will work collaboratively with the Director on product development, for our brand of chocolate dipped berries, baked goods, and fruit bouquets. This high performing Manager should have a proven track record of success within an ecommerce retail platform working collaboratively with various cross functional teams. They will be responsible for working closely with a seasoned Director in managing the creation of new and innovative gourmet food products from ideation through commercialization. This will include working with outside vendors and fulfillers on private label with experience in fruit handling, chocolate dipping, candy/confection, and bakery. In addition, this person is comfortable with consumer data analysis, gross margin analysis and business negotiations, including sourcing.

Product Development Manager Primary Responsibilities:
• Develop unique and innovative product ideas, including food product, packaging, and labeling.
• Have a deep understanding of the competition and perform continual competitive research.
• Create quarterly product assortments and maintain the details in an organized fashion.
• Understand the development timeline and follow a schedule to meet all deliverables.
• Study historic sales metrics to help guide decisions

Required Skills:
• 5+ years of product development experience within food and/or perishables
• Computer proficiency in MS Office, Excel and Power Point required.
• Creative thinker, with a strong mathematical and business acumen.
• Motivated self-starter and successful, organized project manager.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines.
