Job description

The Production and Supply Chain Manager position oversees all production related responsibilities and acts as the liaison between all vendors and internal development, design and merchandising and sales and planning teams. This position establishes and ensures all timelines are met and that goods are developed and produced according to company/brands expectations. The Production and Supply Chain Manager position will work independently and within a team environment, handle moderately complex production responsibilities and have a solid understanding of the factors driving supply chain and manufacturing.This role is critical to the success of our daily business and requires an ownership attitude to ensure consistency in every aspect of our growth. 

Shipment & Order Tracking
Monitor production process across all apparel factories, collecting order and shipping data, documenting unexpected slowdowns, proactively identifying bottlenecks, and working towards mutually-beneficial solutions.
Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Design and Operations teams to ensure alignment on timelines for new product launches along with mitigation of issues with core products.
Monitor and manage the availability of materials and work directly with sub-component suppliers (if necessary) to ensure on time delivery and the de-risking upstream of finished goods production.
Work with factory Production Managers to communicate order priorities and production plan needs.
Support quarterly clean-up of open orders and QC drops from Brightpearl

Production Purchasing
Create accurate reports for sales, planning, production, and inventory control needs
Participate in seasonal line planning meetings to understand wholistic "buy" and product strategies for the category
Participate in annual cost and payment terms negotiations with factory partners
Enter, issue and update all finished goods, raw materials, and marketing samples purchase orders as needed
Send purchase orders to overseas and domestic suppliers.

Production & WIP Management
Correspond daily with overseas factories to ensure on-time production schedules and exit factory dates are met.
Update all ETA, ETD, and In-Transit dates and communicate the most recent information to Planning and cross-functional partners.
Monitor weekly Work in Progress Reports from factories.
Work directly with factories to ensure production is delivered on time.
Work directly with factories to maintain balanced materials requisitioning to support forecasts and planned orders.
Oversee and lead weekly Production meetings with Planning, Operations and Warehouse teams to review upcoming schedules and deliveries.
Problem-solve all production related issues as they are identified.
Notify all cross-functional partners of updates and solutions.

Air Freight booking
Confirm Shipments as ready from Factory, and review/approve packing forms with Purchase Order
Track of all production shipments, update team and systems with tracking information, and notify all parties for major shipments and receipts.
Review status/location of shipments, update warehouse teams of product movement to help warehouse capacity planning


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) 
Bachelor's Degree and 2-3+ years of experience in Apparel supply chain and production, preferably within a top-tier apparel brand or private label apparel company.
Strong understanding of vendor on-boarding in all stages of the new product development pertaining to the delivery of physical products.
Proven ability to translate performance data into actionable insights using quantitative analysis.
Working knowledge of NetSuite, Excel, EDI, and ERP platforms with an overall willingness and curiosity to learn new software and solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interact at senior levels of the organization, vendors and other internal/external stakeholders.
Strong mathematical skills combined with exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
Knowledge of business management principles, practices, and procedures 
Knowledge of organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures 
Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures 
Knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures within specialty area 
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community 
Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures 
Ability to develop and prepare comprehensive financial/business analyses 
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing 
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment 
Self-starter/entrepreneurial 
Strong aptitude with numbers and clear understanding of ecommerce math
