MERCHANDISING & PLANNING, FOOD & GIFTS JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of Merchandising & Planning Manager, the Sr. Assistant Manager drives several segments or Region of the Manager's total responsibility. The focus is on communication with Hong Kong headquarter (particularly with category assistants, master data management team, replenishment & allocation team and other relevant internal parties) vendors and regions, gaining agreement with the Manager in building assortment grids, promotions, forecasts, orders, allocations, and inventory flow of the products to support the category strategy in managing the supply chain. In addition, Sr. Assistant Manager supports the Manager in achieving the worldwide and the division’s gross margin, sales and profitability plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops budgets and/or sales targets, promotions and assortment plans for a minimum of one segment of a category
  • Formats, analyzes and reviews data for budget and vendor meetings, and recommends actions steps to the Manager
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with vendors and store teams for a segment of a category
  • Responsible for execution at the store level for planograms and/or events in partnership with store teams
  • Reports results against objectives for category of responsibility and recommends action plans to Manager
  • Communicates and monitors sales promotions, product knowledge and special events/store training
  • Communicates standards of visual presentation and works with VM to develop promotional collateral for in store marketing of key product drivers in assortment strategy
  • Maintains vendor and product information, generates reports and manipulate them on Excel as required
  • Compiles statistical data using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint for reports needed, strategy presentations and any other presentations throughout the year
  • Supports manager in building the ecommerce and digital strategies and collects relevant information from the vendors
  • Responsible for OTB, Order Placement and Replenishment
  • Provide analysis necessary for the development of the Open-to-Buy at the location and brand level
  • Communicate and collaborate with team on purchase decisions o Recommend quantities for orders as required based on stock projection
  • Review and update the replenishment forecasts as required based on stock projection
  • Monitor Open-To-Buy weekly and make recommendations as appropriate
  • Responsible for Inventory Management o Supply replenishment and allocation team the appropriate information to facilitate distribution
  • Manage the vendor-to-receiving warehouse ensuring target service levels are achieved
  • Work with vendors and locations to ensure that the orders and allocations match the location’s sales needs and minimize WOS requirements
  • Collaborate with team on promotional and event planning
  • Identify fast and slow sellers and develop action plan with team
  • Provide analysis to report and implement discontinued SKU action plans as needed

Key Requirements:

  • Degree holder from an accredited University (Bachelor required, Master preferred)
  • Previous merchandising and/or planning experience preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to variety of organizational levels
