Our client, a popular women's fashion brand, is looking for a Buyer to join their team!
Responsibilities:
- Curate assortment that aligns to consumer profiles
- Build and maintain strong relationships to manage P&L and achieve KPI targets and budgets
- Ensure product line accurately represents the target customer
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Scout new sample vendors to recommend products to be sold on the site
- Lead and develop a team of associate buyers
- Negotiate quality, quantity, and delivery with vendors
- Communicate stock level and merchandise needs with other departments
- Communicate with marketing to develop story and campaign content
- Track merchandise markdowns
- Track and analyze best and worst selling styles, colors, and materials
- Travel to trade shows as needed
Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of retail buying experience
- Experience in buying women’s apparel
- Extensive experience buying denim and non-denim bottoms
- Strong understanding of denim fabrics, wash techniques, and overall garment construction
- Proven track record of delivering KPI targets and market-share growth
- Strong negotiation skills
- 1-2 years managing associate buyer or equivalent level a plus
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
