Job description

Our client is seeking a creative and fearless Senior Designer for their Equipment Performance Gloves and Accessories categories for Snow, Surf and Bike. Specific knowledge around Technical glove experience is a must. Product encompasses all Gloves(Snowsports & Bike) and Headwear (Beanies, Neckwear and Sun Hats) and ideally Bike Protection. This role entails athlete insight, market & consumer research, concept generation, commercialization and strong collaboration with Developers and Product Line Managers (PLM). In this role, you are responsible for driving innovative and functional designs for the categories as well as collaborating with other team designers on seasonal colors and prints.

What You’ll Do:
  • Take part in leading the creative vision for your category; design concepts and prototypes and gather/interpret insights from athletes and consumers.
  • Take lead in driving the seasonal color/print/graphics vision for your categories.
  •  Collaborate with Mountain design/PLM team for the Snowsports/Bike palette.
  • Collaborate with all design/PLM teams on creating the Equipment seasonal palette. Key role in presenting this strategy to the team, company and brand.
  • Work alongside a team of designers to develop brand-right concepts that translate into optimized commercial consumer product, ensuring aesthetic, quality and cost are consistent with the market.
  •  Based on product briefs, create design tech packs for innovative new products in the categories and product types as assigned.
  •  Participate in Asia-based factory development trips to ensure vision and intent is executed successfully in the product development processes.
  • Manage workload to ensure team is balanced and tracking to deadlines.
  • Work with the category PLM to define seasonal projects and ensure creative inputs and business goals are in tandem.
  • Partner with Product Development on setting seasonal innovation and incorporating current technologies into concepts.
  • As a team, ensure design commerciality and strict adherence to targeted price points and product creation timelines.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
What To Bring:
  • 3+ years related Product Design/Industrial Design in the snow sport, bike, or outdoor industries or similar. Glove experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in making independent decisions for the betterment of the team/brand is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, or related design education preferred.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of storytelling in regard to design and project intent.
  • Strong sketching/rendering skills.
  • Expert working knowledge of Adobe CS and Microsoft Office programs; additional working knowledge of any of the following programs is a plus: Solidworks, Rhino, Maya 3D, Fusion 360
  • Extensive knowledge of technical materials, construction methods and manufacturing processes for both hard and soft goods.
