Our agency client in Chicago is seeking a Senior Manager, Programmatic to join their team on a fulltime basis, starting immediately. This role will ideally be located in Chicago, for candidate to go in-office on a hybrid model, however the client is open to remote for the right candidate. 


The Senior Manager, Programmatic will lead the strategy and development of the agency's programmatic practice. While there may be a component of client-facing involvement, this role is primarily internally focused on building channel best practice, channel standardization, training & development, supporting client managers as a subject matter expert, and strategic new business development support. This individual will work in conjunction with the Group Director, Media and other channel leads, to ensure ever-improving engagement and opportunities within the programmatic channel.  

The right candidate will be passionate about programmatic marketing and its importance in the consumer journey and marketing funnel.  They must have an astute understanding of the programmatic landscape - including all channels, technologies, platforms, etc - demonstrate the vision to help develop the programmatic practice, and ultimately be an organizational leader to promote company-wide collaboration and ideation. As this is an internally focused role, the Senior Manager, Programmatic will be measured on their ability to develop and complete milestones across multiple initiatives simultaneously and in a timely fashion.

The Senior Manager, Programmatic Will:

  • Help lead agency new business proposals and pitches for the channel; and deliver insightful and persuasive presentations to clients and prospects
  • Lead and manage the RFP process for any programmatic-related opportunities
  • Educate, ideate and support team training teams in the development of programmatic strategies, best practices, and idea generation
  • Partner w/ the Director, Partnerships to cultivate strong relationships with programmatic partners, including but not limited to DSPs, Ad Servers, Measurement Tools, Inventory partners Audience/Contextual Targeting Partners, DCO providers, DMPs 
  • Lead the development and implementation of best practices in programmatic marketing for clients across the agency
  • Maintain and communicate ongoing updates to programmatic marketing to broader teams
  • Oversee company-wide initiatives related to advancements in the programmatic space (ex. POV and strategic recommendations for navigating the cookieless world)

• The Senior Manager, Programmatic MUST HAVE/BE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years of digital marketing experience with focus in programmatic marketing required.  Agency experience a plus
  • Expert understanding of programmatic marketing mediums, including but not limited to display, native, programmatic video, digital audio, ConnectedTV, YouTube, DOOH
  • Strong relationships with partners in the programmatic space
  • Strong understanding of tag management systems and programmatic media measurement (ad operations, site tagging, media tagging and trafficking, tracking systems)
  • Extensive hands-to-keyboard experience developing, implementing, analyzing and optimizing both awareness and direct response programmatic media strategies 
  • Candidate should have a hunger for/be a participant in: new technology testing/vetting, new targeting solutions, programmatic events and conferences
  • Dedication to completing projects and tasks with passion and a relentless pursuit of excellence; ability to excel in a complex and changing marketplace
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities

  • Client facing or internal C-level track record
  • Experience in new business pitches, responding to RFPs, scoping projections

  • Expert in ad trafficking using Google’s CM360 and campaign setup using DV360, Google Ads, TTD, and other DSPs
