Senior Media Planner Overview:

As Senior Media Planner, you will lead strategy in creating successful student marketing campaigns that deliver.


The ideal candidate for Senior Media Planner will oversee key client projects and help build an effective brief with an innovative plan for an agile performance campaign. The role of Senior Media Planner will practice a closer partnership with clients to create new business opportunities, growth, and accurate forecasting while providing internal training and support to the Marketing team and junior members of staff.


Senior Media Planner Responsibilities:


  • Be a trusted partner to key clients and act as extension of client’s team, advocating for growth opportunities in Advertising/ Creative/ Conversion.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the education cycle and ensure client’s marketing objectives fit both long-term and short-term strategies.
  • Maintain contact with client to create future campaigns according to the education cycle and help client develop strong creative briefs.
  • Create strategy decks for stakeholders that outline minimal, engaging, and persuasive strategies.
  • Manage client spend through quarterly reviews and ensure they stay aligned with start of year forecasts.
  • Oversee processes in delivery teams and handle booking work after client has signed off.
  • Identify campaigns suited to AI powered plans and pull performance reports to discuss with clients.
  • Use licensed tools such as Akero Insights, Student Hut Tracker, etc to identify existing and new research on student demographic.
  • Partner with media activation team to discover new audiences and channels for campaigns.
  • Possess strong understanding of current markets and the competitive landscape and evaluate target audience.
  • Create data driven brand and performance campaign plans in Akero and manage day-to-day planning and reporting on all campaigns.
  • Provide clients with insight via data analysis on campaign performance.
  • Ensure timely execution of campaigns through successful coordination across delivery teams, biddable, ad ops, and creative teams.
  • Collect proper data from clients on enquiry, application, and enrollment.
  • Propose client recommendations based on strong data.
  • Ensure campaigns are built using Akero tech stack from planning and delivery to optimizations and reporting.
  • Collaborate with client success team to develop customized conversion strategies to meet client goals.
  • Ensure all advertising drives to Akero form, page, pixel (subject to development).


Senior Media Planner Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or relevant field.
  • 3-4+ years of experience in media planning, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Strong strategic skills with digital platform qualifications (Google and Facebook).
  • Ability to engage with client properly to collaborate, challenge, and present proposals.
  • Thorough knowledge of the advertising sector while staying up to date on digital/ platform developments.
  • Ability to promote new ideas and strategies based on thought-provoking campaigns to larger team and inspire way of thinking.
  • Comfortable with technology and create compelling strategies based on data.
  • Strong analytical skills with a collaborative team spirit.
