Job description

Fast growing Intimates & Shapewear brand, looking to bring on a Senior Technical Designer to their team.

This person MUST have intimates and shapewear experience.

Location: Mostly Remote – In office x2 per month in LA & OC for fittings 

Apparel Technical Designer (Intimates and Shapewear) Responsibilities:

  • Create technical packages to achieve design vision, fit goals, and cost objectives
  • Complete tech pack creation and ownership
  • Organize, conduct and document fit sessions – including ownership and development of grade rules on Regular and Plus Sizing
  • Direct factories in fit improvement and sample adjustments
  • Offer guidance on various sewing techniques, garment construction techniques and fabrics to achieve shapewear functionality of product
  • Track development and changes, communicate revisions to factories.
  • Maintain approved garment library and aid in lab dip approvals and maintenance of color and trims library
  • Ensure PP and TOP submission maintain T&A calendars.
  • Collaborating with designers, factories, and CEO to ensure products are made from concept to shelf.
  • Analyzing designs and determining required resources and project deadlines.
  • Implementing design changes and making contingency plans as necessary.
  • Assist in developing and documenting sewing sequences with Product Development team and factories

Technical Designer Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and background in Intimate Apparel and/or shapewear
  • Must be available for fit sessions in either Los Angeles or Orange County
  • Associate’s degree in fashion, technical design, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferable.
  • 5+ years experience in Technical Designer role
  • Experience with software like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
  • Knowledge and experience with patternmaking.
  • The ability to justify design changes.
  • Deadline-driven and committed to quality.
