SEO Manager Overview:

As the SEO Manager, you are data-driven and highly organized, with a search engine optimization background to help increase organic search traffic through content recommendations, site improvements, and education around SEO. You will play a critical role in improving visibility of our client’s message and content, working alongside Product Marketing, Demand Generation, and Editorial.

 

SEO Manager Responsibilities:

· Direct the global SEO program and develop customized and targeted SEO landing page solutions to maximize effectiveness of search campaigns

· Day-to-day execution of organic search engine campaigns including keyword research, researched content gap recommendations, strategic optimization of existing content, competitor analysis, site improvements, and ad hoc SEO support

· Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, content optimization, meta-tag creation, and other SEO related activities

· Propose hypotheses and conduct tests to improve traffic, engagement, and conversions

· Document strategy for major events and tentpole topics and conduct post-analysis afterward

· Run reports, measure performance, and share analysis with stakeholders. Propose improvements/alternative approaches

· Educate stakeholders with regular editorial trainings, new best practice documentation, and wider team presentations

· Regularly report on trends, case studies, and performance using Google Analytics and SEO tools such as SEMRush and Moz

· Perform content audits and technical site audits

· Monitor traffic following algorithm updates and act fast to recover after traffic drops

· Apply top-to-bottom management of SEO campaigns including writing meta content, supervising SEO friendly page construction, creating target keyword lists, improving site URL structure, improving link architecture, etc.

· Support content migrations and post-migration analysis & recovery

· Lead ad hoc SEO projects to support the brand and the centralized SEO Team

· Keep abreast of the latest SEO developments and news, especially as it pertains to technical aspects of sites

 

SEO Manager Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred

· 5+ years’ planning, developing, and implementing SEO strategy

· Passion for data and insights

· Strong SEO copywriting skills and adherence to the highest standards of SEO

· Knowledge of HTML/CSS

· Proficient with Conductor, Screaming Frog, MOZ, Google Analytics, and WebTrends

· Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with and present to all levels of the business

· Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines
