Social Media Art Director Overview:

The Social Art Director will bring a strong knowledge and understanding of social media channels, as well as digital and traditional marketing/communication. They will bring an extensive creative background that encompasses design that is specific to organic and paid social content, as well as video and photo content. The Social Art Director will understand how to bring together ideas, words and images to create a well-rounded social-forward experience.

Social Media Art Director Responsibilities:

  • Create/support the brand image for the brand’s social platforms supporting projects across all relevant social media channels this includes but is not limited to photoshoots, videoshoots, designed content, and animated content for organic social.
  • Should be comfortable designing content for various social and digital channels, being fluent in mobile-first platforms.
  • Keen follower of technology, worldwide events, and pop culture, understanding how to create engaging, meaningful content for the brand.
  • Comfortable giving direction on photo shoots and sometimes video shoots, as well as in leading pre and post production processes.
  • Should feel comfortable overseeing the work of a Graphic Designer and closely collaborating with the Social Media Marketing team and with team Copywriters
  • Responsible for mentoring and leading junior creative staff through critique of their work to maintain consistent creative quality.

Social Media Art Director Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years in a highly productive creative environment, with 2-5 years of design experience centered on digital/social media creative.
  • Digital agency or beauty/ luxury /fashion industry a plus.
  • Deep understanding of major social media platforms as well as smaller and emerging platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a must.
  • Photography and video creation/production skills a must.
  • Strong, diverse portfolio with examples of social media content is a must.
