Social Media Editor Overview:
As the Social Media Editor, you will collaborate across teams to grow our client’s presence and impact across social media channels. The ideal candidate has a strong social media background and based on the nature of the content, is comfortable being around/editing graphic material. You will be shooting, producing, and editing content across all social media platforms.
Social Media Editor Responsibilities:
- Develop a unique, authoritative voice that builds trust, piques interest, and engages new and loyal audiences
- Edit photo and video to create compelling visual content for posts and stories
- Assist with photography and video shoots on property to capture content for social channels
- Direct and shoot content with an elevated aesthetic
- Execute daily social media posts, including written copy, designs, and multimedia, and edit or oversee production of social media copy
- Measure and report social media performance to optimize sharing strategies and provide guidance to stakeholders to improve engagement
- Collaborate with marketing team to promote special projects, major events, sponsored webinars, new products, and diverse initiatives
- Research competitors and deliver recommendations to help inform social media strategy
- Explore, leverage, and experiment with untapped social platforms and tools to reach new audiences
- Collaborate to optimize content for social, from topics to design, and educate team of best practices for social optimization
- Set and implement the strategy for all the brand’s social channels, including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, etc.
- Manage day-to-day content calendar across social channels
- Pitch, write, create, and curate content for social media platforms
Social Media Editor Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in editing
- Strong communication, editorial, and analytical skills
- Experience using social media management and analytics tools (Sprinklr, Google Analytics, CrowdTangle, Adobe Analytics etc.)
- Experience publishing to visual-first platforms like Instagram and Snapchat, including script/caption writing and editing
- Must possess an aesthetic eye for on-brand imagery that will perform
- Comfortable with material that is graphic in nature
