Job description

Our client is a well-known multi brand luxury retailer that is seeking a new Supply Chain Compliance Specialist to join their team!

The Supply Chain Compliance Specialist helps develop and maintain the company’s compliance strategy, structure and processes, standards and procedures to ensure that the compliance programs throughout the organization are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting and correcting noncompliance.

Advises and works with the broad management team on compliance issues, reporting, and monitoring and partners with internal business leaders in Supply Chain, Product Development, Merchandising, Customs and Store Operations as well as our Vendors to drive compliance related supply chain improvements.

This position also leads specific product and supplier compliance efforts to ensure that products are procured, managed and supplied compliance with country-of-origin, international, national and provincial or state standards, regulations and statutes; and in accordance with Company policy and value proposition objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

•Support the development and on-going management of compliance work plans.

•Coordinate and participate in the development and implementation of product compliance standards and programs that must be met by new and existing suppliers.

•Participate in the development of policies, guidance, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory standards, US customs and company policies.

•Coordinate and develop compliance training programs to ensure that all appropriate employees and business and vendor partners are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent laws, custom initiatives and regulations

• Provide specialist training to sourcing, quality, vendors and other business partners to ensure compliance with standards/regulations. •

•Establish, ensure, and maintain proper process and sourcing systems documentation or standard operating procedures (SOP) and supplier manuals.

•Implement systems management processes to ensure supply chain traceability.

•Schedule and conduct product and supplier compliance audits to identify areas of risk and recommend improvements to address identified gaps.

•Ensure products and suppliers are in compliance with pertinent laws and regulations as well as Lee Valley policies and procedures.

•Maintain awareness of compliance issues; review and assess potential high-risk compliance issues by gathering information and evidence and make recommendations for remedial action(s).

• Review, evaluate, and recommend compliance programs and practices; conduct reviews and benchmarking

 

Knowledge and Skills:

•Bachelor’s degree in business or similar field of study

•CITP (Certified International Trade Professional) an asset

•3+ years’ supply chain experience in highly regulated retail/sales or manufacturing industries.

•Training and/or experience with US customs.

•Knowledge of United States requirements on product safety; certifications and labelling; environmental; and social responsibility

•Awareness of Lacey Act, CPSC, C-TPAT

•Risk management knowledge and experience.
