Our growing company is seeking a Senior Sweater Designer to drive seasonal product development and design efforts for private label clients, brands and licenses. A qualified candidate would possess a college degree and a minimum of 7+ years design experience. We offer a flexible work schedule (hybrid work from home and in-office), and our environment is fast-paced, creative and vibrant.

We are a leading provider of "pet lifestyle" products--we design and wholesale trend-right, quality items which are sold in top retailers worldwide, in both brick & mortar and online channels. We are the dominant player in pet apparel and also have a strong business in collars, harnesses, bowls, etc. Founded in 2000 in San Francisco, we are an established company with a great reputation in our industry.

Role:
As the Senior Sweater Designer, you will work in conjunction with an experienced design team and the VP Product Development & Design to deliver on trend product lines that are consistent with our client’s needs and industry trends. You will have strong technical design, presentation, organizational, management skills and of course an affinity for pets!

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with VP Product Development & Design and other members of Design to deliver seasonal color and trend analysis on quarterly basis.
• Develop and execute product designs that achieve overall product strategy and merchandise objectives.
• Shop competitive marketplace for inspiration to drive innovation.
• Communicate with overseas offices to execute accurate, attractive, on calendar sampling.
• Develop product presentations and collateral for sales appointments, line reviews and other meetings as needed.
• Prepare BOM’s and hand off notes to Technical Design Team.
• Partner with cross functional teams in Technical Design and Production to overcome obstacles and improve efficiencies.
• Manage product approvals via Blue Cherry PLM.
• Utilize Fiery as a support tool.
• Design calendar oversight.

Skills for Success:
• Years of Related Professional Experience: 7+ years
• A Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
• In depth knowledge of the sweater knit category, fabrication & construction.
• Proficient in Illustrator & Photoshop. Fiery and Blue Cherry/PLM also preferred.
• Polished presentation skills and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Childrenswear experience a plus.
