Hours per week: 30-40

Pay rate: $25-30/hr DOE

 

One of our fashion brand clients is looking for a freelance Technical Apparel Designer to join their team for an exciting long-term contract role.

This freelance Technical Apparel Designer will be attending fittings, providing technical input for finishes and adjustments, and noting all comments/changes as needed.

The freelance Technical Apparel Designer should be comfortable communicating with factories re: samples/fit changes, shipments, and timelines, as well as have experience developing care instructions/sizing guides, and developing tech packs.

 

Ideal freelance Technical Apparel Designer candidates will have:

- BA degree in fashion design

- 2-4 years of technical apparel design experience, preferably in women's or children's wear

- Able to work onsite in Longmont, CO 4-5 days per week

- Strong understanding of silhouettes, fabrications, sewing techniques, trims, and technical knowledge of fabric, garment construction, and patterns

- Experience analyzing upcoming project workloads and planning accordingly so team can hit deadlines and maintain clear communication and expectations

- Full understanding of product development and able to offer creative solutions while collaborating on aesthetic and design direction with internal teams

- Experience measuring and evaluating samples from prototypes through TOP

- Strong understanding of fit comments, measurements, and grading

- Experience attending fittings and providing technical input for finishes and adjustments needed to match design intention/vision - noting all comments/changes as needed

- Able to manage daily communication with factories re: sample status and fit changes, incoming shipments, and adherence to key timelines

- Experience developing care instructions and sizing guides for all new styles in production

- Comfortable assisting in the development and creation of new tech packs

- Team player, great work ethic, passion for apparel design, and motivated to go above and beyond in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
