Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a well-rounded UX designer who is research driven. You will use your skills in design and research to prototype new experiences that will drive value for our community. You will play a key role in establishing data-driven research processes and best practices. You’ll work with stakeholders from product, engineering, and marketing to identify research needs and will have impact at all points of product development.

UX Design Responsibilities

  • Create clean and simple user-centered web and mobile views for a high traffic music ecommerce platform that relies on community contributors
  • Assist in the production of prototypes, concept sketches, and interaction designs using key tools such as Figma
  • Work with the User Experience design and engineering team to maintain and adapt core design standards and flows across.
  • Collaborate with the accessibility team to enable and execute accessible content across our web and mobile app products.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to create mockups, wireframes, and user flows based on current project requirements
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to iterate on designs and maintain visual consistency
  • Participate in UX Team reviews, sharing, brainstorms, and activities

Research Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify research needs by partnering closely with UX team members, product managers, engineering, and marketing teams.
  • Analyze user needs and pain points using mixed methods including usability studies, interviews, surveys, contextual inquiry, rapid iterative testing, competitive analysis or industry/academic research.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative findings and articulate actionable product and design insights to UX team members and key stakeholders.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations using low to high fidelity prototypes and other visual tools.
  • Establish a relationship with our community and identify opportunities to bring additional value to our users.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university, or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years related design and research experience.
  • Knowledge in WCAG accessibility standards.
  • E-commerce design experience.
  • Understanding of designing within complex legacy systems.
  • Capable of designing prototypes from wireframe to high-fidelity user interfaces.
  • Experience with responsive web and native mobile design.
  • Adept with design tools such as Figma.
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Possess knowledge within your specialization to be able to guide and mentor team members.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment and ability to respond quickly to changing expectations.
