Our popular retail client is looking for an experienced UX/UI designer to join the team.
OVERVIEW:
As part of a quickly growing Ecommerce division, this person should be a TRUE designer by nature and have tangible real-working experience as a UX/UI Designer (with a stronger emphasis on the Visual Design side). They will be responsible for conducting initial user research, creating solutions driven by business goals and user insights, and designing multi-channel experiences via wireframes and visual designs. The UI/UX Designer will know when to diverge on design concepts, when to drive consensus through effective storytelling and how to bring product teams through all stages of the design process. The UI/UX Designer will be able to focus on the problem in front of them while staying focused on overall vision and objectives.
THE UX/UI DESIGNER WILL:
- Transform concepts and specific design ideas into useful, delightful product features
- Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant and beautiful then drive consensus
- Advocate for the user while taking into account both business needs and technical constraints
- Collaborate effectively with product, engineering and design teams
- Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and are visually communicated
- Draw insights from consumer research and turn those insights into tangible solutions
- Adapt communication strategies appropriately in order to advocate for the user
- Partner with product, engineering, design and research teams from conception to launch to oversee the user experience
THE UX/UI DESIGNER MUST HAVE/BE:
- 4+ years of practical, in-house product, UI/UX design experience for Ecommerce or B2B facing brand
- Strong aesthetic and conceptual skills which will keep the growing brand relevant and exciting
- Applied experience designing for responsive web and native applications; mobile (iOS and Android) design experience preferred
- Passion for sharing design strategies with fellow designers, product managers and engineers to deliver better, more user-centered products
- Experience with either front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) or prototyping tools that approximate these technologies
- Excellent communication and data visualization skills
- Ability to bring internal stakeholders on design journey and explain designs with focus and efficiency
- Knowledge of prototyping methodologies and practices, user research methodologies and A/B test planning/execution
- Acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and team goals
- A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision
- Experience conducting user research and user testing
- Strong time-management skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- An extremely strong communicator and motivator for change! This person will be going in front of the board and key stakeholders to present, if needed, and discuss what needs to happen in the UX/UI Division and WHY!
