Our client is a well-known lifestyle brand that is seeking a new VP of Operations to join their team in West Port Connecticut! 

*on site in Westport CT fulltime
 

VP of Operations Job Summary:
In this role, you will drive the strategic vision and expand the national footprint of
warehousing, e-commerce fulfillment, retail store distribution and logistics functions.
Oversee the day-to-day warehousing activities of the company, ensuring that the
organization is managed and performing efficiently and effectively. This position will
work in close partnership with our internal teams to lead and develop a first-class
operation that supports our aggressive growth plans. 

As the Sr. Director of Operations, your primary responsibilities include the following:

Strategy & Processes
• Develop a long-term network strategy for multi-channel distribution and storage
capacity that will best serve our sales growth and geographies to ensure we are
ahead of any constraints or needs
• Leads project management, planning and implementation of facility and equipment
requirements, including build-out of new facilities as needed
• Responsible for the physical condition of warehouse including planning and
implementing new design layouts; equipment maintenance and repair
• Responsible for the selection and performance all Furniture Operations logistics
and operational partners, including but not limited to last mile white glove delivery
providers and inbound/outbound logistics partners

Performance Management
• Develop operations process documentation while championing continuous
improvement activities to improve processes and increase productivity
• Ensure that the performance goals are set and achieved, through the proper
execution of performance metrics as it relates to Productivity, Safety, Speed, Quality,
and Accuracy
• Responsible for managing inventory levels by conducting physical inventory counts
ensuring accuracy and reconciling.
• Achieves financial objectives with creation of operations budget; scheduling
expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions

Culture and Team
• Build the company operations team: recruit, hire, train and develop
operations leadership
• Lead and develop your team through mentorship of Direct Reports. Coaching,
teaching, building skill sets and holding team members accountable while being an
active presence on the facility floor
• Develop close working partnerships with other functions to create transparency into
input metrics and service levels to other company departments (merchandising,
production, retail, marketing)

VP of Operations Qualifications:
• BS or BA in Business Administration or related Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering
field
• 8+ years of logistics and supply chain experience leading teams over 50 associates
and a minimum of 5+ direct reports
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills; Six Sigma certification a plus
• Proven leadership skills through solid coaching of employees and communication
• Excellent planning, analytical, and people skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• ERP experience preferred
• Excellent customer service focus; professional demeanor
