Account Manager/Business Development Lead

Our Client is seeking an Account Manager/Business Development Lead

SUMMARY Primary role will be to provide professional level support and oversight of sales strategies; to include execution of strategies and monitoring of sales activities of the Partnership, UPASS, K-12 and Convention Sales Programs. To have a thorough knowledge of all sales sources, performance and history of the aforementioned programs allowing for conception and implementation of strategies required to optimize sales revenue and system ridership. Also, when necessary provide assistance in sales operational improvements consisting of technology changes, market research and quantitative analysis to measure sales program effectiveness. And further, provides sales program budget input and monitoring for the Office of Marketing. Aid the function of non-traditional revenue generation, including assistance in oversight of revenue generating contracts; and by researching and investigating new Authority concepts that could increase or optimize revenue sources. Assist in investigating and developing out-of-the-box (via Request For Proposal) advertising or non-advertising concepts that have the potential for revenue generation and/or customer convenience improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintain professional relationships and provide unparalleled customer service for current client base by having an in depth understanding of the customer’s needs and business processes of all sales programs. 2. Provide professional level support in the development of marketing programs, literature, sales strategies, market research, special events, revenue-generating projects, and promotional activities of all sales programs while improving the overall organization’s ability to improve the sales function. 3. Prepare reports, track and monitor monthly all (Partnership, UPASS, K-12, Convention) sales activity to the lowest level to pro-actively, reactively, evaluate, address and communicate anomalies as they occur. 4. Implement and maintain a Sales CRM program that effectively tracks and monitors existing and potential customer relevant activities designed to promote sales and ridership. 5. Identify new and existing clients, and where necessary develop and deliver professional presentations for in-depth business cases to position MARTA as a viable solution to their transit and benefit needs. 6. Deliver effective sales presentations to potential new customers, to new company managers, provide follow-up and consultation, distribute sales literature, and make sales calls on current and potential customers with the goal to increase participation and sales revenue. 7. Work within the scope of the Business Development function to identify trendsetter ideas, investigate, research and work to implement new advertising and non-advertising revenue generating concepts for the Authority. 8. Assist in conceiving, identifying and implementing business concepts by leveraging MARTA system attributes to secure non-traditional revenue goals and objectives. 9. Assist in the oversight of the Office of Marketing revenue generating contracts with the over-arching goal of increasing traditional and non-traditional. 10. Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES N/A SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Follow the work practices and standard operating procedures for this position. Use and/or wear the appropriate equipment, protective devices or clothing that MARTA requires. Report health and safety concerns to supervisors and report any on-going/unresolved health and safety concerns to the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) co-chair, JHSC representative or safety representative.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor Degree Marketing or Business, or related field with a minimum of four (4) years professional experience in marketing, sales, business or related fields. Experience should include handling a large diverse project load, preferably in a public service environment. Excellent oral, analytical and written communication skills are required. Experience desirable in sales solicitation, account management, business management, business contract oversight and sales programs initiatives. Experience or knowledge desirable in concepts which could provide other non-traditional (i.e. advertising) sources of revenue. Must be experienced in the use of WORD, EXCEL and Power Point. In lieu of degree, directly related experience may substitute on a year to year basis.
